About Cornerstone

A church rooted
in grace and truth.

For over 20 years, Cornerstone has been a place where imperfect people encounter a perfect God. We believe faith grows best in community — and we've built ours around that conviction.

Whatever you're carrying today, there is a seat at the table and a place in this family for you.

Our Heart

More than a Sunday service — a family.

Community doesn't happen by accident. At Cornerstone, we've created spaces for people at every stage of faith to connect, grow, and be deeply known.

Whether you're just curious or have followed Jesus for decades, you belong here.

From Our Family

"I walked in not knowing a single person. Within a month, I had friends I know I'll keep for life. Cornerstone is the real thing."

— Marcus T., Member since 2019

Our Story

Rooted in
Real Life

A church planted by ordinary people with an extraordinary hope — that every person in this city could know they are loved.

Lead Pastor
Meet Our Pastor

Leading with humility and a heart for people.

Pastor James Williams has spent over two decades walking alongside families in both celebration and hardship. His approach to ministry is direct, compassionate, and grounded in Scripture.

He and his wife, Denise, planted Cornerstone in 2004 with a handful of families and a conviction that this city needed a church that refused to give up on anyone.

Today, that vision has grown into a multigenerational congregation of thousands — and the heart behind it has never changed.

What We Stand On

The values that anchor us.

Scripture First

The Bible is our foundation — living, active, and entirely sufficient to guide every area of life and community.

Radical Welcome

Every person who walks through our doors is made in the image of God and deserves to be received with dignity and warmth.

Authentic Community

We believe faith grows in the context of genuine relationships — messy, honest, and committed for the long haul.

Spirit-Led Worship

Our gatherings are spaces of encounter — where we bring our whole selves and expect God to move in our midst.

Generosity & Outreach

We exist for more than ourselves. Serving our neighbors — locally and around the world — is central to who we are.

Grace Over Perfection

This is a church for imperfect people. Growth happens here — slowly, honestly, and surrounded by grace.

Our Journey

Twenty years of faithful presence.

2004

The Beginning

Cornerstone was planted in a community center with 34 people. Pastor James preached from a folding table. The presence of God was undeniable.

2012

A Home of Our Own

After eight years of rented spaces, the congregation moved into its first permanent building — built largely by the hands of our own members.

Today

Still Growing

Over 4,000 men, women, and children call Cornerstone home. Our mission remains the same: to know God, grow together, and love our city well.

New Here?

You don't need to have it all together to walk in.

We've designed Sunday mornings to be warm, unhurried, and genuinely welcoming to anyone — whether you're returning to faith or exploring it for the very first time.

Come as you are. That's not a slogan here — it's how we actually live.

Welcome

We've been expecting you.

Join us this Sunday. There's a seat with your name on it and a community ready to welcome you home.

Your First Step

Community begins with one Sunday morning.

Visiting a new church can feel daunting. Our welcome team will meet you in the lobby, help you find your way, and make sure you leave knowing at least a few friendly faces.

Common Questions

Things you might be wondering.

What should I wear on Sunday? +
Come as you are — literally. You'll see everything from jeans to dress clothes on a Sunday morning. We want you comfortable and present, not performing.
Is there childcare available? +
Yes! We have a fully staffed, secure children's ministry for infants through 5th grade during both Sunday services. Check-in opens 20 minutes before each service.
How long is a Sunday service? +
Services run approximately 75 minutes and include worship, announcements, and the message. We'll never keep you past the time we said — we respect yours.
Do I need to be a member to get involved? +
Not at all. You're welcome to join a Life Group, serve on a team, or attend any event before you've taken a single official step. Connection comes first, commitment follows naturally.

Let's find out where you fit.

There's a ministry, a group, and a community ready to welcome you exactly where you are.

What We Believe

The foundation
of our faith

Grounded in historic Christian faith, shaped by grace, and anchored in deep love for every person made in the image of God.

Core Doctrines

What we stand on.

Belief 01

Scripture

We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God — fully sufficient as our guide for faith and daily life.

Belief 02

The Trinity

We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — equal in nature, distinct in relationship.

Belief 03

Salvation by Grace

We believe salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone — his death, burial, and resurrection — and not by human effort or merit.

Our Commitment

A church built on timeless truth.

Cornerstone is part of the global family of evangelical churches — rooted in the creeds of historic Christianity and committed to the full counsel of God's Word.

Our Philosophy

You are not a project to be fixed.

We believe every person walks into this building carrying a story that matters to God. Our role is not to judge it — it's to create space for faith, healing, and genuine belonging to take root.

More of What We Believe

Rooted in Scripture.

Belief 04

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer, empowering us to live faithfully, pray boldly, and serve others with spiritual gifts.

Belief 05

The Church

We believe the local church is God's primary vehicle for making disciples — and that regular, committed membership in a community is essential for spiritual growth.

Belief 06

Eternity

We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people, the return of Jesus Christ, and the eternal reality of both heaven and hell as described in Scripture.

Curious about the faith?

We'd love to have a conversation. No pressure, no expectations — just an open door and a genuine welcome.

From Our Family

In their own words.

"I hadn't been inside a church in fifteen years. The first Sunday I came to Cornerstone, I cried through the entire service. I felt like I was finally home."

— Marcus T., Member since 2019

"Pastor James has a gift for making the Bible feel alive and personally relevant. I've grown more in two years here than in my entire spiritual life before."

— Priya M., Life Group Leader

"My kids ask me every Saturday if it's Sunday yet because they love children's ministry so much. That says everything you need to know."

— Celeste V., Mother of Three

"I was skeptical about church. My wife convinced me to try it once. That was four years ago. Now I lead a men's group and I can't imagine life without this community."

— Dana & Kevin K., Members

"When our family went through a crisis last year, we had meals at our door, calls every day, and people praying for us without ceasing. That's not religion — that's love."

— Sofia R., Member

"I came in with a lot of questions and not many answers. Cornerstone gave me the rare gift of space to seek without pressure to perform. I found my faith here."

— Nadia H., New Member

A Moment That Changed Everything

"I walked in lost and broken. I walked out knowing I was loved by God and surrounded by people who meant it."

— James A., Cornerstone Member
